We are serious about skin care, have a passion for our treatments and love what we do. We will provide you with the best possible treatments with the best possible outcomes. As good listeners, we will endeavour to answer all your questions on any aspect of your treatment and give you a specialised and satisfying service.
As our most valuable resource, Cosmetic Elegance Clinic invests in their staff. Dr Albert Vermeulen
Clinical Lead & Skin Cancer Doctor, MBChB, FRACGP
Dr Vermeulen has had a special interest in skin cancer for many years & has worked in cosmetic medicine in Armidale. He trained in South Africa and has done numerous post graduate training courses. His enthusiasm, diagnostics & surgical skills are excellent and will enhance the services that Cosmetic Elegance Clinic can give to patients.
He qualified as a GP 1999 in South Africa and emigrated to Australia in 2004, starting out in Roma. He then moved to Tamworth (worked in Armidale). Dr Vermeulen went on to do his Skin Cancer training in 2007 with a Certificate in Primary Skin Cancer and Skin Cancer Management. He has been practising Skin Cancer medicine for 10 years. In 2017 Dr Vermeulen moved to Toowoomba where he began work with Cosmetic Elegance Clinic full time.
Krystal Thompson
Practice Manager
Krystal is an experienced people-leader and Practice Manager from Dubbo NSW. Krystal moved to Toowoomba in 2019, to which she worked across the healthcare industry (predominantly dental) for 15 + years in both clinical, including dental nursing and operational roles for Toowoomba, SE QLD and New Zealand. Most recently, Krystal has held senior operations roles in the NDIS sector and is excited to return to her passion as a Practice Manager in healthcare.
Dr Ryan Rad
Skin Cancer Doctor
MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Ryan graduated from medical school in 2011 and brings over a decade of medical experience to his practice. Following his qualification, he spent seven years working extensively across surgical specialties, developing strong procedural and surgical skills. He later continued his training as a General Practitioner in Tasmania and achieved Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2022. During his GP training, Dr Ryan developed a strong interest in skin cancer medicine after recognising the growing need for timely, high‑quality skin cancer diagnosis and management within the community. He has since completed advanced training in dermoscopy, skin cancer medicine, and surgical management, and is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA). Since 2023, Dr Ryan has worked exclusively in skin cancer diagnosis and treatment. He relocated to Queensland in early 2024, where he continues to provide comprehensive and patient‑centered skin cancer care.

Dr Michael Kazlauskas
Dr Michael Kazlauskas graduated from the University of Queensland in 2011. He has extensive experience diagnosing and treating skin cancer in hospital, GP clinics and skin cancer clinics. He is passionate about all aspects of skin cancer medicine, including:
- Skin protection and cancer prevention
- Early detection of skin cancer and precancerous lesions
- Best practice skin cancer treatment, ensuring effective cancer treatment and the best possible cosmetic outcomes.

Her expertise includes assisting with skin cancer surgeries and helping individuals navigate the complexities of their diagnosis and treatment options and runs our Total Body Photography clinic. Carmen’s passion is ensuring that patients feel informed, comfortable, and supported every step of the way.

As a registered nurse for the past twenty years, I have thoroughly enjoyed my many experiences providing care and support to patients in various work settings. I have found this industry in particular to be both very interesting and extremely rewarding, as not only have I been given the opportunity to work each day with a friendly and professional team, but I am also able to provide quality nursing care to a beautiful clientele.
To ensure that we deliver the highest level of excellence, our registered nurses further their education on a regular basis, by attending conferences and seminars relating to general and cosmetic medicine. Patient care is paramount and we adhere to strict clinical standards for treatments and infection control procedures, according to medical standards.

I have been a registered nurse for a little over 2 years, having worked in general practice and then moving into the cosmetic field. I have always been interested in what can be done to help enhance client’s natural beauty and I am excited for the opportunity to join Cosmetic Elegance, as their reputation as a leading Skin Cancer and Cosmetic Centre is renown is this region.
Growing up in a family that was always sunsmart, I have also become interested in skin cancer procedures. I enjoy assisting the doctors with procedures and learning about our skin and how important it is that we look after it.
I was born in South Africa but have spent most of my life in Australia. I have been in Toowoomba for 8 years and enjoy spending time with my husband and our 2 fur babies who are the light of our lives.
We like to take the dogs for an exploration and a dip on my parents property as they both have a lot of energy to burn and are very fond of water!
